Longtime missions supporter Carmen Dickey Graham of Warner Robbins died on March 17, just four days short of her 95th birthday. Her volunteer ministry was profiled in an October 1981 issue of the Index.

A native of Dodge County, she served as a summer volunteer through the Baptist Convention of Pennsylvania-South Jersey, the West Virginia Convention of Southern Baptists, and taught Vacation Bible Schools in Louisiana. She was an early member in the 1970s of the Christian Service Corps, an innovative ministry of laypersons coordinated through the former Home Mission Board. That ministry is now called Mission Service Corps and is administered through the North American Mission Board.

During her membership in the 1970s at First Baptist Church of McCaysville she was church organist, pianist, librarian, youth director, Woman's Missionary Union director, and was a state approved church training and music worker.

Among her many ministries was serving as a housemother for summer missionaries in Daytona Beach, Fla., through resort ministries of the Home Mission Board.
