Ministerial Moves


First Baptist Church Moreland called Daniel Ausbun as pastor. He comes to the church from Vestavia Hills, Ala. and is joined by his wife, Sherri. His first Sunday will be April 24.


Dorsett Shoals Baptist Church in West Metro Baptist Association called Jenni Bourquine as children/preschool minister in January.


After serving as interim minister of music since November of last year, Ryan Bowman was called as bi-vocational minister of music at Lisbon Baptist Church in February.


Bill Dempsey resigned as pastor at Pauline Baptist Church in Quitman after serving three years to accept a call as minister of education at Calvary Baptist Church in Rome. He is joined by his wife, Pam.


Ben Gray was called as student minister at Southside Baptist Church in Griffin and began serving in January. He is joined by his wife, Bethany.


James Johnson resigned as minister of youth and children at Toms Creek Baptist Church in Martin to accept the call to full-time missions. His last day was March 2.


Webbs Creek Baptist Church in Commerce called Wade Lott as pastor beginning March 13. Lott comes to the church from serving as minister of music and education at Maysville Baptist Church. He is joined by his wife Tammy, daughter Brittany, and son Garrett.


Victor Lyons announced his resignation from Houston Baptist Association effective March 15.


Sammy Simmons was called as pastor of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church in Ringgold and began March 20. Simmons is a native of Commerce. He holds degrees from Southwestern Seminary as well as Georgia Tech. He and his family come to the church from Plum, Texas.


Chip Vickery was called as youth pastor at Nails Creek Baptist Church in Homer in February.
