Charles Drummond named ministry resource consultant in East Central Georgia Region

 

Charles Drummond, who has served as pastor of Shorter Avenue Baptist Church in Rome since 1990, will begin his duties as the new ministry resource consultant in the East Central Georgia Region on June 13.

Drummond will succeed John Bryan, who resigned the MRC position to become pastor of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church in Atlanta.

Drummond's educational background includes Floyd College, North Georgia Bible Institute, New Orleans Seminary and Covington Theological Seminary.

The new ministry resource consultant's pastorates include East Lake Baptist Church in Chattanooga, Tenn.; New Harmony Baptist Church in Cedartown and Fairview Baptist Church in Rockmart.

Drummond has provided leadership for the association and the Georgia Baptist Convention. He recently concluded his duties as moderator of the Floyd County Baptist Association. He has also served as vice president of the GBC. He has been chaplain of the Rome Fire Department since 1992.

Charles and his wife, Lawana, have a daughter, Holly, who is expecting their first grandchild in October. They will be making their home in Augusta.
