GBC president announces members of 2004 Committee on Nominations

 

Georgia Baptist Convention President Tony R. Dickerson has announced the members of the 2004 Committee on Nominations.

Agreeing to serve are Fred Evers of Tifton, chairman; Kenneth Cloud of Cairo, Phoebe Dunn of Augusta, Wayne Marcus of Martin, Jeremy Morton of Fort Valley, Rusty Newman of Winder, Charles Smith of Eton, Don Spears of Aragon, Jerry Speer of Columbus, Dan Spencer of Thomasville, Jon Sullivan of Perkins, Tom Vann of Rentz, Danny Watters of Douglasville, Robert Wilson of Atlanta, and Ethel Wynn of Auburn.

Dickerson and GBC Executive Director J. Robert White will serve ex officio.

The Committee announced that at the 2004 annual meeting of the state convention, 20 full-term memberships and four at-large memberships will be elected as well as any unexpired terms which become vacant during the year. Dickerson reminded Georgia Baptists that the associations are eligible to suggest names to the Committee to fill these vacancies.

Associations preparing to suggest names for consideration will receive nominations forms from the office of the Executive Director, and are requested to mail the forms to Committee on Nominations Chairman Fred Evers, Northside Baptist Church, 302 20th Street W, Tifton, GA 31794. The Committee on Nominations will meet April 6, August 17, October 12, November 11, and November 15.

Associations for which full five-year term Executive Committee members will be elected are: Augusta, Catoosa, Consolation, Daniell, Ebenezer, Floyd County, Grady County, Habersham, Hephzibah, Kilpatrick, Little River, Pulaski-Bleckley, Merritt, Mount Vernon, Mountaintown, Northwest Georgia, Rabun, Tallapoosa, Telfair, and Tugalo.
