Georgia Baptists named to serve at various positions of denominational leadership

 

The 2006 SBC Committee on Nominations has named several Georgia Baptists to serve in leadership roles. Nominees will serve if elected by the messengers to the annual meeting of the Southern Baptist Convention, June 13-14 in Greensboro, N.C.

Nominated to serve on the Executive Committee, with term expiring in 2010, is Ernest Easley, senior pastor of Roswell Street Baptist Church in Marietta, replacing Frank Cox, pastor of North Metro First Baptist Church in Lawrenceville. Barry P. Ladd, Sr., a member of Harmony Hall Baptist Church in Gainesville, has been nominated for a second term to the Executive Committee.

Nominated for a second term on the board for Guidestone Financial Resources was William R. Delk of Alpharetta.

Gene M. Williams, retired pastor and member of First Baptist Church Conyers, was nominated to serve as a trustee for the International Mission Board, replacing Ed Ricketson of Warrenton. Williamsí term would expire in 2010. Nominated for a second term on the IMB board is David Baxter, a member of Mt. Harmony Baptist Church in Mableton.

Nominated to the board for LifeWay Christian Resources with term to expire in 2009 is Faye King, a layperson and member of Dawson Street Baptist Church in Thomasville. She replaces Roger Wilkins, who served as pastor of Gum Branch Baptist Church in Hinesville until his death Feb. 2.

Philip W. West, senior pastor of First Baptist Church in Valdosta, is nominated to serve on the board for Southern Seminary with term to expire in 2011, replacing Otis B. Ingram of Macon.
