Hamrick announces 15-member committee to lead Convention's 2007 nomination process


Georgia Baptist Convention President Wayne Hamrick announced that the following persons will serve on the 2007 Committee on Nominations: Jon Sullivan, Rome, chairman; Bryan Alexander, Douglasville; Phil Bray, Dearing; Tim Burnham, Lindale; Jim Cleghorn, Belaire; Mike Everson, Douglasville; Paul Dennis, Newnan; Ronnie Foster, Alma; Paul Garrison, Toccoa; Royce Hulett, Hazlehurst; Darla Ricketts, Athens; Miranda Robertson, Valdosta; Charles Smith, Chatsworth; Jerry Speer, Columbus; and Dan Spencer, Thomasville with Convention President Wayne Hamrick and Executive Director J. Robert White serving ex officio.

The Committee on Nominations announced that at the 2007 annual meeting of the Georgia Baptist Convention 17 full-term memberships and four At Large memberships will be elected as well as any unexpired terms which become vacant during the year. Georgia Baptists are reminded that the associations are eligible to suggest names to the Committee on Nominations for these vacancies.

Associations preparing to suggest names for consideration by the Committee on Nominations will receive nominations forms from the office of the Executive Director, and they are requested to mail these forms to Committee on Nominations Chairman Jon Sullivan, Shorter Avenue Baptist Church, 22 Brook Valley Court, SW, Rome GA 30165 [(706) 234-8266]. The Committee on Nominations will meet April 10, August 20, October 16, and November 12.

Associations for which full five-year term Executive Committee members will be elected are: Appalachee, Atlanta Association of Southern Baptists, Atlanta Metro, Ben Hill-Irwin, Bethel, Columbus, Dodge, Gwinnett Metro, Hebron, Houston, Laurens County, Mercer, Middle, Morgan County, Noonday, Savannah, and Smyrna.
