Andy Brock, pastor of New Providence Baptist Church in Smarr, died from an apparent heart attack Feb. 26. He was 59.
A former Navy SEAL who served in Vietnam, Brock spent 25 years in ministry mostly as an interim pastor. He was called as New Providence’s pastor in December.
Brock is survived by his wife, Nona, of Smarr, and three sons, Thomas, of McDonough, and Willie and Kelley, of Roberta.
Rolando Muniz, former Georgia Hispanic church planter, died March 5 at Jewish Memorial Hospital in Louisville, Ky. due to complications following heart surgery.
Muniz served as pastor of Elohim Hispanic Mission in Rabun County Association from Oct. 1999-Dec. 2005. He currently had been serving as a Hispanic church planting strategist among four associations in eastern Kentucky.
Muniz is survived by his wife, Sarai, and two children.
