Ministerial Moves


Paul L. Camp, retired director of the former Evangelism and Missions Division of the GBC, has completed a 22-month interim at Trinity Baptist Church in Carrollton.


Jesse Colbert was called as associate pastor of student ministries and education at First Baptist Church Baxley.


First Cairo called Joe M. Allen as senior pastor on November 23. Allen, a native of Atlanta, is a graduate of Dallas Baptist College, Dallas Theological Seminary, and Southern Seminary. He has pastored churches in Kentucky and Georgia, including First Norcross.

The Cairo pastor and his wife, Lindsey, have a daughter, Bethany, who is a senior at Liberty University; and son, Joe III, an International Service Corps missionary with the International Mission board and a student at Dallas Theological Seminary.

The call of Allen to the church ended a pastor search process that began in August of 2002.


Glynn Stone resigned as minister of youth at Ten Mile Creek Baptist Church in Baxley.


Acacio Hernandez resigned as pastor of Living Rock Hispanic Mission Church in Hazlehurst on Dec. 31. David Lewis will supervise as the church searches for a new mission pastor.

Kim Hardegree Schmitt has been called as pastor of New Horizons Baptist Church in Fayetteville.


John Reeser has accepted a call as pastor of Covenant Baptist Church in Cleveland.


McDonough First Baptist Church has called Jerry Smith as pastor.


Larry and Beth Wilkins have been called as children and youth ministers at Pisgah Baptist Church of Floyd County Association. Jerry Dudley is pastor.


Stephen Williams was called as staff evangelist and minister of education at Sunset Hill Baptist Church in Douglasville on Dec. 1.


Reggie Vaughn is serving as interim pastor at Zidon Baptist Church in Royston.


Andrea LaCount is now serving as secretary at New Hope Baptist Church of Tugalo Association.


Becky Boyd began her ministry as church administrator at First Baptist Church in Albany on Jan. 5.
