ODUM — The first “Foundations of American Law and Government Display,” which includes a copy of the Ten Commandments, is now available for viewing at the renovated train depot in the city of Odum.
The town in southeast Georgia is the first to take advantage of H.B. 941, signed into law by Governor Sonny Perdue last year that authorized local governments to erect the display. The display itself is available through Ten Commandments, GA, Inc., which seeks “to see in our day a restoration of a common moral code based upon God’s laws, The Ten Commandments,” according to its website at www.thoushalt.org.
Also included in the display are copies of The Mayflower Compact, Declaration of Independence, Bill of Rights, and Preamble to the Georgia Constitution.
