Ministerial Moves

 

Glenn Cavin retired as pastor of First Baptist Church of Reynolds on Jan. 27. He and his wife, Stella, had ministered at the church for the past eight years. They now reside at 121 Pine St., Ringgold 30736.

 

Caleb Everman began his tenure as associate pastor for student ministry at Glyndale Baptist Church in Brunswick Jan. 13. He previously served as youth minister at First Baptist Church in Grayson, Ky. Everman is joined by his wife, Phoebe, and two children.

 

McIntosh Baptist Church in Flint River Association recently called Jamie Farmer as part-time minister of music. He is joined by his wife, Kathy, who is the church’s pianist, and their son, Jordan.

 

Matt Hinesley recently accepted a call as minister of youth and education at Greenville Baptist Church. He is joined by his wife, Carrie, and their son, Hayden. Hinesley began his ministry at the church March 2.

 

Inman Houston was recently called as pastor of Lawrenceville First Baptist Church, beginning there March 2. A graduate of Georgia Tech and New Orleans Seminary, he previously served as associate pastor of Global Impact at First Baptist New Orleans. In that role he coordinated his church’s response to the community following Hurricane Katrina.

Houston is joined by his wife, April, and their son, Jacob. The couple is expecting another son in June.

 

Hunters Creek Baptist Church in Tugalo Association has called Ben Huff as pastor.

 

Sumner Baptist Church in Mallary Association called Gene Huggins as pastor Nov. 25.

 

Brian LaFavor began his tenure as interim pastor at Crawford Avenue Baptist Church in Augusta Feb. 24.

 

Lisa Lovett joined the staff of Cartersville First Baptist Church as children’s ministry coordinator Jan. 20.

 

Tommy McNair recently began his tenure as pastor of Faceville Baptist Church.

 

Ted Moody resigned after nine years as pastor of Mt. Gilead Baptist Church in Griffin effective March 2. He plans on pursuing mission work in Africa and is available for interim pastorates and mission conferences. He can be contacted at (770) 567-3908 or tedmoody@bellsouth.net.

 

Joe Poitevint recently resigned as pastor of Rehobeth Baptist Church in Shellman.

 

Trey Sapp started as student pastor at Eastside Baptist Church in Marietta Jan. 13. Previously, he and his wife, Whitney, served in Western Europe through the International Mission Board. Sapp also served as minister of missions at Roswell Street Baptist Church in Marietta.

 

Dennis Taylor resigned as pastor of Sunnyside Baptist Church in Mallary Association on Feb. 3.

 

Evergreen Baptist Church in Mallary Association recently called John Townsend as pastor.

 

Members of Hapeville First Baptist Church called Bob Wiley as their new pastor Feb. 24. Following a 16-year stint with the Home Mission Board (now the North American Mission Board) in various missions positions, Wiley served five years as executive director of the Illinois Baptist State Association. A retired church planting missionary with NAMB, he most recently served two years as a consultant in multi-housing with New Work Development Ministries of the Georgia Baptist Convention.

 

Faith Baptist Church in Griffin called Frank Winfrey as pastor effective Feb. 17. He was formerly on staff at Sandy Creek Baptist in Fayetteville and is joined by his wife, Danah, and son, Andrew.
