Former IMB missionary Jenkins named to lead Western Baptist Association


NEWNAN ó J. Wayne Jenkins began service June 1 as the new associational missionary for Western Baptist Association.

Previously, he and his wife, Pam, served the International Mission Board as missionaries to Germany for 25 years. They were the first IMB missionaries to be appointed to work specifically in the German language and developed the IMBís work in the Upper Palatinate region in Bavaria. During their time the couple baptized hundreds of Germans, planted churches and Bible studies, and preach revivals throughout Germany, Austria, and southern Hungary.

Before going to Germany Jenkins pastored Flat Rock Baptist Church in Villa Rica. He is a graduate of Southwestern Seminary and Luther Rice Seminary.
