DULUTH — A Georgia Baptist Convention leader warned of lawmakers looking toward gambling as a way of bringing revenue during the economic crisis.
“The media is now beginning its campaign to prepare this state for a positive vote on the issue,” said Ray Newman, GBC specialist in Ethics and Public Affairs, Dec. 12. “We cannot wait until this bill is introduced and must act now.”
Fulton County Commis?sioner Robb Pitts told 11 Alive News he’s proposing two casinos – one in Atlanta and another possibly along the coast.
Newman encouraged voters to contact their representative and senator before the session begins in January at www.legis.state.ga.us.
