After “70 birthdays and 50 years in the ministry,” Milton Parker decided it was time to turn over the reigns as associational missionary to a younger man. Parker retired from the leadership role of Hebron Baptist Association on May 31 after 15 years of service.
A native of Columbia, S.C., he pastored churches in North and South Carolina for 34 years prior to joining the Hebron Association. Six of the association’s 55 churches located in Elbert, Hart, Franklin, and Madison counties were established during his tenure.
He was instrumental in motivating several churches to become personally involved in missions, especially in helping to build churches in New Jersey and New York.
Parker and his wife will remain in Elberton, where he plans to be available for pulpit supply, interim opportunities, revivals, and other speaking engagements. For information contact Parker at: 1264 Robinwood Lane, Elberton, 30635-2273.
