Ministerial Moves

 

First Baptist Church in Albany called Milton Gardner as interim pastor. Gardner began his ministry August 1.

 

Randy Gilbert was called as bi-vocational pastor at Long Cane Baptist Church in LaGrange on June 13.

 

Scott Hutchins began his ministry as pastor of Briarwood Baptist Church in Ringgold on July 1. He is joined by his wife, Laurie, and their two children, Hayden and Molly Kate.

 

Greg Ingram resigned in June as junior high minister at First Baptist Church in Conyers to go to Willow Creek Church near Chicago. Rusty Couch was called to serve as interim, effective June 14.

Bill Johnson began his ministry as pastor at First Baptist Church in Orchard Hill on July 4. Johnson comes to the church from North Salem Baptist Church in Port Wentworth.

 

Second Memorial Baptist Church in Rehoboth Association called Jenny Hall Ledger as minister of music, youth, and children on July 25. Ledger has a master of arts in Christian education with a specialty in church music from Southern Seminary. She has served ministries in Jackson, Locust Grove, and Henry Counties, as well as in Louisville, Ky.

 

Zion Baptist Church in Covington called Pam Matthews as education administrative assistant on May 17.

 

Lisa Moats was called as preschool/CDC director at First Baptist Church in Conyers. She began her ministry on April 1.

 

Robert G. Nordan accepted a call as supply leader for congregational music and assistant to special music at Sweetwater Baptist Church in Thomson. Nordan comes to the church from West Acres Baptist Church in Evans. He began his ministry July 11.

 

Bill Perry, who recently retired after 22 years as pastor of First Baptist Church in Statesboro, was called as interim pastor of Black Springs Baptist Church in Milledgeville, effective July 25. He is joined by his wife, Margaret.

David Rhea resigned as African American church planting strategist and minister of missions of peace for Stone Mountain Baptist Association, effective August 15.

 

Kathy Sanson resigned, effective August 1, as associate minister of music at Johns Creek Baptist Church in Alpharetta.

 

Bud Smith resigned as pastor of Plainview Baptist Church in Griffin. His last Sunday at the church was June 20.

 

Second Baptist Church in Griffin called Michael Smith as children’s minister on June 27.

 

William Stallworth accepted a call as church accompanist at Zion Baptist Church in Covington in June.

 

Art Tennille was called as associate pastor/administration at First Baptist Church in Conyers and began his ministry on May 2.

 

Garden Lakes Baptist Church in Rome called Cindy Wallace as minister of young families. Her first Sunday was August 1. Wallace graduated from Truett Seminary and is joined by her husband, Rob, and their two children, Daniel and Thomas.

 

Marty Watts accepted a call as minister of music at First Baptist Church in Griffin. His first Sunday was August 8.
