NASHVILLE, Tenn. (BP) — Year-to-date contributions through the Southern Baptist Convention’s Cooperative Program are 3.08 percent below the same time frame last year, according to a news release from SBC Executive Committee President and Chief Executive Officer Morris H. Chapman.
As of July 31, the year-to-date total of $161,740,215.32 for Cooperative Program (CP) missions is $5,143,271.88 behind the $166,883,487.20 received at the end of July 2009.
Designated giving of $181,934,780.05 for the same year-to-date period is 0.34 percent, or $624,219.93, behind gifts of $182,558,999.98 received at this point last year.
Monthly CP receipts totaled $16,219,794.91 while designated gifts received last month amounted to $8,962,365.75.
For the SBC Cooperative Program Allocation Budget, the year-to-date total of $161,740,215.32 is 94.96 percent of the $170,321,327.19 budgeted to support Southern Baptist ministries globally and across North America. The SBC operates on an Oct. 1-Sept. 30 fiscal year.
During the last fiscal year (Oct. 1, 2008 – Sept. 30, 2009), Cooperative Program receipts for the year declined 2.23 percent and combined CP and designated giving for the year declined 3.65 percent.
