Ministerial Moves


Kris E. Mullis began serving as pastor at Hollonville Baptist Church in Williamson on Oct. 10. Mullis comes to the church from Fort Sill, Okla. where he served as a chaplain in the US Army. He recently returned from Iraq, where he had participated in Operation Iraqi Freedom. Prior to his army service he served as pastor at Newton Baptist Church in Newton, Ala. for two years.

Mullis graduated from New Orleans Seminary, where he earned his masters in divinity degree. He begins the doctorate of ministry program at the New Orleans Seminary extension in Decatur this year. He is joined by his wife, Shana, and daughter, Katherine Rachel.


Jong Choi began serving as pastor at Korean First Baptist Church in Albany on Feb. 1.


Matt Stowe resigned as minister of music at Toms Creek Baptist Church in Martin on Sept. 19.


Randall Ray was called as youth minister at The Chapel at Swan Lake in Rome on Sept. 5.


Tommy Cleveland completed his interim pastorate at Rehoboth Baptist Church in Bowman. He is now available for supply, interim, or a pastorate for a small church. Contact him at (706) 245-7436.


Robert Gosey accepted the call as pastor at Lake Park Baptist Church in Augusta, effective Nov. 24.


Tony Lankford was called as pastor of Park Avenue Baptist Church in Atlanta at Grant Park on Sept. 19. Lankford previously served Second Baptist Church in Cedartown as associate pastor. Currently he is a student at McAfee School of Theology.


After seven years of service as pastor of Irwinton Baptist Church in Ebenezer Association, Johnny Jackson retired on Aug. 4. Steve Smith from Cochran assumed the position of interim pastor.


Chris Sammond resigned as director of music and education at Lisbon Baptist Church in Fayetteville on Sept. 12.


Randy Jeffers was called as pastor at Faith Baptist Church in Griffin in late September. He is joined by his wife, Etta Marie, and their son, Travis.


Michael Smith was called as family minister at Second Baptist Church Griffin at the end of July.
