Former First Ellijay pastor named citizen of the year


Former First Baptist Ellijay Pastor James Holt receives the 2012 Citizen of the Year award from the Gilmer County Chamber of Commerce Jan. 26. Beginning in 1966, Holt led First Baptist for 27 years. In that time the church helped establish several benevolence ministries in the county. After retiring in 1993, he went on to pastor at First Baptist Cumming before returning to Gilmer County at Calvary Way Baptist Church. Holt is pictured with his wife, Betty Jo.
