Henry Tucker Singleton died June 15 at Baptist Village in Waycross. He was 84.

Singleton was born in Albany and would go on to earn degrees at Mercer University and Southern Seminary. He would later serve as a trustee at both Mercer and Brewton-Parker College.

As a Baptist minister, Singleton served pastorates in Soperton, Madison, Savannah, Hardwick, Columbus, and Arlington. In statewide denominational work, he was a GBC Executive Committee member for many years and parliamentarian for more than 30 years. At the time of his death he was a member of First Waycross.

Preceded in death by his wife, Anne Fleming Singleton, and daughter, Patricia S. Reese, he is survived by his son, Henry Singleton, III, of St. Petersburg, FL, and two grandsons.
