The criteria for determining the fastest growing Sunday Schools

Formula for identifying Fastest Growing

  • Percentage gain in SS/SG Average Attendance from 2009-2012.

  • Net gain in SS/SG Average Attendance from 2009-2012.

  • Percentage gain in SS/SG Enrollment from 2009-2012.

  • Net gain in SS/SG Enrollment from 2009-2012.

  • Percentage gain in Worship Average Attendance from 2009-2012.

  • Net gain in Worship Average Attendance from 2009-2012.

  • Total Baptisms for 2009, 2010, 2011, and 2012.

  • SS/SG Attendance to Baptism ratio for 2009-2012.

  • Percentage gain in number of classes/groups from 2009-2012.

  • Net gain in number of classes/groups from 2009-2012.

Where the church is in the list will determine the number of points. For example, if the church is listed 12th on the percentage gain in SS/SG average attendance then the church would get 12 points. The church with the lowest point score will be ranked 1st in the “Fastest Growing” list.

Factors that disqualify:

  • SS/SG enrollment or attendance that did not increase at least one of the last three years.

  • SS/SG enrollment and attendance that did not increase in 2012 over 2011.

  • Numbers that appear to stray from realistic figures (such as attendance equal to enrollment or unrealistic variations in data) in 2009-2012.?

Charts depicting the GBC’s fastest-growing Sunday Schools are in the current issue of VantagePoint.
