Mother’s Day

Baptist Village Lake Park held a Mother’s Day Tea on May 4th. A variety of teas, quiche, sweet treats and a beautiful Mother’s Day cake was served. Many family members and friends came to the celebration. Minnie James, Director, did an impromptu talk confessing her mischievous childhood antics that tried her grandmother’s patience. Guests were also asked to share funny stories of their childhood and their mothers’ reactions. It was a time for residents and guests to share fun, laughter, and love.

God’s Masterpiece is Mother - Herbert Farnham

God took pieces of everything wonderful to make moms.
God took the fragrance of a flower...
The majesty of a tree...
The gentleness of morning dew...
The calm of a quiet sea...
The beauty of the twilight hour...
The soul of a starry night...
The laughter of a rippling brook...
The grace of a bird in flight...
Then God fashioned from these things
A creation like no other,
And when His masterpiece was through
He called it simply – Mother.

Memorial Day

Memorial Day is an opportunity to honor the ones who paid the ultimate price by giving their lives for our freedom. A special prayer was offered for the families of those who did just that – gave their lives to protect our freedom. We pray Americans will look to God and continue to experience His blessings.

The residents enjoyed a picnic outside where a nice breeze was blowing. The smell of hamburgers and hot dogs grilling filled the air. The meal was enjoyed in the warm sunshine surrounded by beautiful Georgia pines.

Louise Nelson prepared all the “fixings” while Minnie James grilled the burgers and hot dogs. Staff members Christine Jones, Georgia McHan, and Angela Hawkins set up the tables and chairs and served the residents. All enjoyed a lot of laughter and talked about fun times growing up and picnics long ago.

God continues to bless Baptist Village in Lake Park with a loving staff and a wonderful group of residents who are enjoying life. Come by and join us and see Baptist Village’s ministry in action.
