Rogers retires after 27 years serving Georgia Baptists

Chris Fuller

At the end of September Dennis Rogers officially retired after 27 years of service to Georgia Baptists. The Thomasville native joined the state convention in February 1987, serving until 2009 in Church Training (later named Discipleship Ministries). For the past five years he served in Collegiate Ministries.

Here, Rogers presents a Japanese Bible to Mayuko Kataoka, a Wesleyan College student who studies religion in general and Christianity in particular, at the BCM International River Rafting trip in Columbus last month. She was one of 234 students to attend the event.

Rogers and his wife, Judy, plan to continue to live in Lilburn where they are members of Mountain Park First Baptist Church. Rogers is currently serving as interim minister of education at Green Acres Baptist Church in Athens.
